We all know the Dems. are going to give the nomination to Obama, even if he turns out to be a rather bad President (e.g. Carter Part 2), so what about the Republicans? You have the current star of the party, Gov. Sarah Palin, along with Gov. Tim Pawlenty, and the "other Obama" ala Gov. Bobby Jindal. Huckabee and Romney are there as well, but the three mentioned before seem to be the most big three. This is because Romney will face the "oh here we go again..." people, and Huckabee has a great show on Fox News that he may not be willing to give up.
So what of these three? Well, personally, I'm seeing a battle between Palin and Jindal, and one that is going to rival the battle between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Now, I'm all for Palin, I even have been trying to get ahold of those nifty "PALIN 2012" signs, but Bobby is just as good! Don't forget, Clinton was a shoe-in for the Dem. nomination, and we saw what happened to her! The same could very well happen to Palin should both of them run.
Now let's just say Palin wins. Who would be the VP pick? It would come down to Romney (again), Pawlenty, Jindal, and Rice. Now, with the last one, I know you all just hit the floor going "are you insane?!" Hear me out. A Palin-Rice ticket would most liekly do very well, even if Obama doesn't turn out to be disaterous. Palin is great with energy, and people tend to connect with her. She also has executive experience. Rice is Secretary of State under President Bush, and has Foreign Policy cred. She, like Palin, won't take crap from anybody as well. Not only that, but, let's face it, the fact that she is black may very well dig into the votes Obama would get, and the fact that it is two women on a ticket is historic.

Debate #3, Election Night, and the Future of the GOP

Election Night
McCain went down in flames. It's as simple as that. Obama, for once, actually met expectations, and din't go down in the polls like I has anticipated. Don't get me wrong though, McCain had an extremely steep path to victory, and never for a moment did I think he had a great shot at winning. However, when Indiana turned out to be too close to call, along with Virginia, that settled it. With those two very red states almost turning blue (and actually turning when it comes to Virginia!), McCain had no chance at the Presidency. It was over at about 9:00pm EST.GOP's Future
2010 and 2012 look like extremely good years for Republicans. With an Obama presidency, and a heavily Democratic Congress, the economy and the other problems we will be facing will be seen as their failure, not as the failure of the Republicans. We could see a second wave of GOP controlled congresses in 2010, and, dependingon how Obama governs, and if we have Sarah Palin as the presidential Nominee of the Republican Party, a party of New Reaganites. Obama, who is basically Carter's second term, would be replaces by Sarah Palin, who is arguably a prominent figure who is looking more and more like she deserves the Rreagan mantle. We also have Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, who could pull an Obama and take the election from Palin. He as well could be an extremely good president. The GOP must, in order to make it happen, learn from the 2008 election. McCain was literally what people see the Republican Party as: the old white man party (and thats what they themselves are saying!). They need some new blood, and messing around with congressional leaders, and having Jindal, Rice, and Palin out and about would be extremely beneficial. Last thing however, is the the youth vote and minority vote. Republicans usually give up trying to grab these two, which I believe is part of the reason why the GOP lost so many seat, as well as the Presidency. In fact, the GOP rarely even goes out and tries to get that vote. They need to take a lesson from Obama, and go after the Democratic base a bit. Ask for the minority and youth vote, since religious and elderly voters won't always be there. If the GOP does this, and Sarah Palin manages to continue building herself up, the future will be much better for the US of A and the GOP.

Presidential Debate: #2
Once again, this one is going to be short, sorry guys and gals...
This debate, to be honest, was more of a wash. Obama seemed to not do anything wrong, and didn't really answer questions, but McCain wasn't able to hit Obama hard enough. He should have been pounding the tax-and-spend liberal ideology that Obama has taken on, and the whole Rev. Write and William Ayers problems. if McCain wants to win, he is going to need to bring out his legendary anger on the side of the people against corporate lobyists and Wall Street.
I do have ot add in though, since today is extremely important, that the Dow had risen today, and by about 950 points! Hopefully this will take the eyes off the economy, and back onto the election. Don't forget, Al Gore was beating Bush by 11 points (51-40) in October, and McCain has been counted out numerous times only to end up winning. Let's see if he can pull another one.

VP Debate and 1st presidential debate
Yeah, its been awhile, but we're back...with the flu...so this is going to be short unfortunately.
The much first Presidential Debate for this election was rather interesting, focusing on not only foreign policy, as is custom in the 1st one, but also the economy. I for one expect McCain to do badly on the economic portion, and do extremely well in the foreign policy. Turns out, McCain did extremely well in both. He was energetic, and on the offence most of the night. Obama did however have a few good moments, and talking into thr camera instead of at the moderator.
As for the VP debate, what a show! My favortie line has got to be "say it ain't so, Joe...". I've found myself saying that so many times today! But really, Palin won this one. No wonder Biden closed with his father saying of "when you get knocked down, get right back up", because he needs to in order to cover for his performance in the debate. The only thing I really have to hit Palin on is that she sometimes didn't anwer the question (though Biden did that plenty of times as well...) choosing instead to counter what Beden had been saying. Really, its two McCain-Palin wins. for right now.
The odd thing is, however, is that the polls are shwoing a slip for McCain, though this can be contributed to the recent economic problems. This, with the pasage of the $500 billion "bailout" will most likely end up taking a back seat again to energy, and even foreign policy if Iran keeps acting up. only time will tell however.

RNC: Day 4
Speaker: Senator John McCain
Alright, its over! And by that, I mean both McCain's speech and the convention. This speech was dull to put it nicely, though comparing him to Barack Obama is more than unfair. I swear, i must have been asleep through most of it. the only saving grace was the ending, not only because it was the ending, but because of the energy that was seen going into it. By far, this is the McCain that will be needed in the days to come: Palin may bring in youth and exuberance, but McCain has to show he is just 'too old". Someone give that guy some uppers and get him angry at someone, PLEASE! All we want is a little EMOTION! Other than that, is was an okay speech, and drew more views than Obama. I guess that's a plus.

RNC: Day 3
Speaker: Governor Sarah Palin
Let's face it, Sarah Palin is the only real reason why today was so important, so this whole little section goes straight to her! Today was when she introduced formally herself and her family into the national political scene, and she just hit it out of the park. She was eccentric, knowledgable, and seemed to know exactly what was expected of her. Am I the only one who thinks she is the second coming of Ronald Reagon?

RNC: Day 2
Speaker: President George Bush
Wow, I haven’t really been a fan of this guy, and have regularly made fun of his speeches, but this one was good. He did exactly what he needed to do. I mean, Bush was supposed to show McCain as a the Maverick that he is, and show that McCain would stand up to him, even though he was the president and a member of his own party. Shame though, since I really wanted someone to mess up horribly, I mean, the Clinton’s did everything perfectly…Bush did everything perfectly…what’s there for me? Well, Michelle Obama didn’t do much, but neither did Laura Bush or Cindy McCain. Well, we still have a few days left…I can hope right?

Here’s another headliner. I really don’t like this guy, but once again…good speech. He ended up tackling the issues with Gov. Palin. He also hit the reformist agenda of McCain-Palin, saying that “They won’t care if the gators get angry, they’re drain that swamp!” He did however talk about an exotic dancer called Maria…which doesn’t seem to make sense, but ‘eh, that doesn’t matter. One of the best parts in my opinion was when they talked about McCain’s experience in Vietnam, and his capture. It as another great speech…with a bit of crazy talk. At least we have that to have fun with!

This was interesting…a Democrat turned Independent who endorsed John McCain, and was even in the running for becoming McCain’s VP instead of Palin. His speech was kind of…’eh…to be honest. I mean, it was the normal stump speech. Maybe I’m holding the guy to a higher level, but it really wasn’t that impressive. It was more or less “I’m a Democrat turned independent that supports McCain…and you should too. Yeah…okay good.” So yeah…not much here with him.

RNC: Day 1
Speaker: Laura Bush and Cindy McCain
There isn't really much to say here folks. Laura Bush basically came in, got applause that rivaled Bill Clinton, talked about helping people being effected by Hurricane Gustav...and thats about it.
Oh...and she introduced a video dealing with the governors in that area...yeah.
Cindy McCain did much of the same thing. Come out, wait for applause to stop, show them the charities they should donate to so they could help those being effected by the hurricane.
I'm not going to lie...this was most likely the most boring thing I have seen in a long time...and I watch the Senate on CSPAN! To be honest though, they both did use a lot of political talk...until Laura and Cindy got involed. So thats about it...no music...no interesting speeches...no Dennis Kucinich jumping up and down on stage for a while...no nothing.
What I wanna know now is: Where is the relief efort for those who had to watch this thing?
Let's hope tomorrow is better...

McCAIN VP DAY!
Its official: the 2008 Republican Ticket will be Senator John McCain of Arizona, and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. So who is Palin and why is she getting the Republicans all happy-happy?
Well, Palin is a pro-life reformist, who took the reigns of Alaska, and has since been known as “Sarah the Barracuda” with “the bodies of those that opposites Palin line the streets of Alaska”. She has been a lifelong member of the NRA, an avid hunter, and a small business woman. She has 5 kids, the oldest going to serve in Iraq, and the youngest just born last April, who happens to be down-syndrome.
So what does Palin do to the ticket? Well, she takes a bit away from the idea of ‘experience‘, as she has been governor for only 2 years. That point is moot however. She does bring in a lot of Clinton voters, and helps bring in energy to a relatively dead campaign. Not only that, but she also energies the republican base, who at this time where not too sure if they were going to go out and vote for McCain.
Palin also is known, like Biden, to be extremely blunt. I can’t wait for the Vice Presidential debate. Hold on, because this election just got a whole lot more interesting!

Anyways, Barack Obama’s speech will go down in the history books, as he accepted the nomination by the Democratic Party. He spent most of his speech attacking Senator McCain, saying that he just does not “get it”, implying the he is much too old to even understand what is going on anymore.
The speech got millions of views,, more than the opening ceremony for the Olympic games, Oscars, or even the American Idol finally! The problem with his speech was that he did not lay out any type of specific plan to do anything. It was basically an anti-McCain speech, with a lot of generalities and vagueness applied to his “solutions”. Obama’s speech was basically just a the same one he’s given 100 times over, just given a different polish

When he finally managed to get his speech underway, he came out in the first few sentences strongly for Senator Obama, dispelling any idea that his speech would be about “me myself and I”.

He full-throatily endorsed Obama, saying that he was once called too young and too inexperienced to run the country. He gave the crowd some red meat as well, hitting McCain a few times.

Hillary, in my opinion, gave one of the best speeches in her political career. She emphasized why she ran, her beliefs, her accomplishments, and tied them all to Senator Obama, asking her voters to think about why they supported her. She asked them to vote for Obama if they were really with her, not only because she was a woman, but also because they believed she was right on the issues.
She stood up there and made the case for Obama, hoping that her supporters would follow suit. She attacked McCain a bit, as was expected. The whole thing looked completely genuine, even though some people still like to shout “2012!” over and over again. Needless to say, if that is really what Hillary is after, she’ll end up getting it after this performance. I don’t think there is one democrat who honestly believe that Hillary is not 110% for the Obama-Biden ticket.

The day started off easy enough: only a few thousand protesters, one delegate leaving to go do a campaign add for McCain, and the party still wondering if they'll ever be united for Obama. This is where Michelle came in though.
Michelle's job was to get rid off all the negatives about her and her husband, especially the idea that he is an elitist and she isn't proud of her country. She needed to show the American people that they were just a normal family.
Michelle's speech was, and probably will be, the largest speech she'll ever have to give, unless her husband is elected and runs for a second term. She did surprisingly well though, talking about her life, her mother and father, and the troubles that she and Barack went through. She managed to humanize him in a way that only she would be able to do: as a loving wife and mother.
Her performance is not without its problems however. OBAMA VP DAY!
Yes, it's Obama VP day! Which means short little fill-in news about Obama's Vice Presidential pick. Who is it? Well, surprisingly is Joe Biden, senior senator from Delaware.
So why is it so unexpected? Well, let's just say you'd have an easier time keeping Bill in like than you would with Joe. I mean, this is the guy that said that Obama was not ready for the Presidency, and that he was the only recent 'clean' black man to run. Now, of course that meant clean, as in nothing hiding in the closet (though it turns out there is A LOT there), instead of clean, as in cleanly. But let's ignore that little blunder, since there are other parts to this whole flop.
Biden said has been in the Senate for longer than McCain, so there goes the whole "change" and evil "Washington insiders" stuff...hopefully, since it would make Obama to look like a it of a hypocrite. Biden also has said that he would be happy to serve for McCain if asked, and had nothing but compliments for the Senator from Arizona up until he was called on for "The One's" VP pick.
Overall, Biden isn't going to help Obama much. I mean, all he bring in is his Foreign Policy experience, which will end up showing Obama extremely inexperienced. He also doesn't bring any states into play, with the exception for parts of Pennsylvania. Oh, and of course the attack-dog part, though that is debatable since that's usually were all the controversy starts. Seems like Obama failed in his first decision: picking a VP.

But let's ignore that little blunder, since there are other parts to this whole flop.
Biden said has been in the Senate for longer than McCain, so there goes the whole "change" and evil "Washington insiders" stuff...hopefully, since it would make Obama to look like a it of a hypocrite. Biden also has said that he would be happy to serve for McCain if asked, and had nothing but compliments for the Senator from Arizona up until he was called on for "The One's" VP pick.
Overall, Biden isn't going to help Obama much. I mean, all he bring in is his Foreign Policy experience, which will end up showing Obama extremely inexperienced. He also doesn't bring any states into play, with the exception for parts of Pennsylvania. Oh, and of course the attack-dog part, though that is debatable since that's usually were all the controversy starts. Seems like Obama failed in his first decision: picking a VP.

The Russia-Gerogia War Part 1
Recently, Georgia and Russia have been at war, at least on one side. Not many people, especially those who tend to watch MSNBC (who is actually defending Russia I might add) have a good understanding of whats is/was going on at ground level. Of course, since I am not an expert, I'll be giving a very brief overview of the situation, along with the two cease-fire agreements that have now been signed.
Georgia has two breakaway provinces: South Osettia and Abkhazia. When President Mikhail Saakashvili was elected, he swore to add Gerogia to NATO as well as take back these two provinses. Saakashvili has already failed in one of these areas, that of NATO membership, which was not granted to the small country. Saakashvili seemed to not want to fail the second one, and against advice from the United States, went ahead and attacked the breakway provinses. This provoked Russia, who was already buliding up their forces at the border before hand, to come in as "peacekeepers" and protect the Russian citizens there (the people in those two provinces had dual citizenship). Russia has, since entering, pushed Georgia into Georgia-proper and continued pressing them until they finnaly were able to split the country in half, by capturing the city of Gori. Russia did not stop there however, as along the way, Russia decided to destroy civilian struictures, along with military ones that were abandend.
Furthermore, Russia has completely detroyed bridges, daycares, amusement parks, schools, churches, facotiries, they even started targeting the police force! It has gone through two cease-fire agreements with the Georgians, both of which the Russians did not folow through with, even though the Kremlin said that it would. Secretary of State Condellessa Rice was sent to Tiblisi to check on things for the United States. She and Saarkashvili held a joint news conference, where she strssed that Russia would pay a price for its invasion, and that it should respect Georgian sovereighty. Russia has said that it does not see any possibility for Gerogia to retain its territorial sovereignty, at least in respect to South Ossetia and Abkhazia. Russia has declared that it would move forces out, now for the second time, and with no results. In fact, the troops are moving forward, toward the capital city.
It gets worse though. The United States and Poland came to a deal that U.S. would get a missle defence system placed in Poland, if the U.S. would protect poland if it were to come under attack (most likely from Russia of course). In responce, one of Russia's top generals implied that Nuclear missles could be launched at Europe and even the U.S.. Russia also decided to enforce this idea, by placing a missle center in South Ossetia, that could have nuclear possibilities. Until then though, Gerogians have something else to worry about. In fact, the Russian Federation was using weapons even the Soviets wouldn't use. They're even using cluster bombs!
Russia's repsonce? Well, they deny the use of cluster bombs as well as destroying any civilian structures. They write it all off as a lie, and say they are starting to bring their forces back. At this pint however, any credibility Moscow and the Kremlin had has comepltely diminished. Russia has been bullying its neighbors, and when one gets too close to the West, this is what happens. Its a wonder that they had not invaed Ukraine yet!

China and the Olympics.
First off, I do have to thank Brent for inviting me to be a part of this stellar blog.
Not that I agree with anything he says. ;)
So I know that this blog has been mostly about the election so far, but I figured there was another issue that should be discussed.
Is anyone else beginning to notice how horribly corrupt China is? I'm not really talking about major political issues in this case (I'll get to that at some point, I promise), but all the same, the things that have been recently brought to my attention are nothing short of appalling.
First, the matter of the Chinese women's gymnastics team.
Olympic rules clearly state that any athlete competing in the games, regardless of country of origin, must be at least sixteen years of age by December 31st of the year of the games.
Now, that being said, take a look at China's women's team.
Do they all look sixteen to you? No, I didn't think so.
To anyone with half a brain, it is quite evident that more than half of China's team is underage. The problem is, China wants girls as young as possible, because the smaller and thinner their gymnasts are, the more agile and flexible they are, giving China the athletic advantage. So how are these girls being allowed to compete when they are so very obviously underage? The answer is simple, but somewhat shocking. China falsified papers for all of their underage gymnasts, altering their birthdates so that "legally" they are sixteen, or will be by the end of this year. In my opinion, China should be disqualified for these despicable actions, but two problems arise. First, there may well be no solid proof of the alterations, seeing as now the that papers have been permanently altered, the chances that there are still living copies of the originals is slim. Second, though most of us are seething and waiting for China to be punished, who is there to penalize? It isn't really fair to take the medals away from the girls on the team, after they worked so hard to earn a spot on the team in the first place. It wasn't as if they were going to turn down a spot on the Olympic team, falsified papers or no falsified papers. They shouldn't have been offered the positions in the first place, but what's done is done, and these young girls can't be charged for the actions of upper authorities. Said upper authorities should, logically, be the ones to take responsibility and be penalized for their actions, but the likelihood of that outcome is probably coupled with that of Obama choosing Hillary Clinton as a running mate.
And as if that isn't enough, there's this whole lip syncing fiasco, which I'm sure most of us have heard of by now. To save time, I'll give you the short version.
If you watched the Olympic opening ceremony, you saw the cute little girl with the pigtails, seven-year-old Lin Miaoke, do crazy stunts on the trapeze and singing "Ode To The Motherland." As it turns out, it wasn't actually her doing the singing. The girl who was actually doing the singing was nine-year-old Yang Peiyi, who, with her "chubby face and crooked baby teeth" apparently wasn't cute enough for China's opening ceremonies.
Let me give you a second to digest that.
That's right. They decided that this nine-year-old girl, who had the "perfect" voice, apparently wasn't good looking enough for their ceremonies, so they picked some other girl who they deemed cuter, and synced the voice with the face.
Anybody else want to vomit?
China is so completely obsessed with their image that they're going to unimaginable lengths to preserve it. This girl is nine years old. Honestly, this is ridiculous. I think what China doesn't realize is that their plan is sort of backfiring; the harder they try to preserve their image by doing things that the rest of us find vomit-inducing, the more they look like image-obsessed criminals, which, honestly, is what they're beginning to turn into.
Apparently, China's noble quest for perfection includes corrupted officials and hiding their less-than-perfect children.
One last thing for you to chew on before I leave you.
You know all those pretty fireworks you saw on your telly on the night of opening ceremonies?
Half of them were prerecorded and then rebroadcasted.
Three cheers for façades!

China's tiny gymnasts in service to the gold

BEIJING -- What did you expect? Any country that would lip-sync out a 7-year-old singer because she wasn't cute enough for the opening ceremony wouldn't hesitate to use underage children to capture gold medals. That's a no-brainer. There is what you see and there is what really goes on in China, and what you see at these Games, the image they project, is as precious as oxygen to the New Emperor of the Planet. Who cares if a gymnast is so young she is, as one critic charged, "missing a tooth"?
"Deng ..." a reporter, according to Reuters, asked a Chinese gymnast who looks small enough to pack in a suitcase, "what Chinese zodiac animal are you?"
"A monkey," Deng responded.
Not only was it the correct chronological answer, it was dead on in the irony department. Every four years, female gymnasts become dueling national Tinker Bells. And while we ignore their sport in between, during the Olympics it's as if our existence hangs in the balance.
China beat the U.S. for gold in the team competition, and it became a drama and a controversy. Tonight, they battle for the individual title of Olympic champion.
Brace yourself. It's barefoot war out there.
A question for the ages
America gasped when our blonde pixies slipped and stumbled. Alicia Sacramone, a 20-year-old from Boston (making her almost a grandma), fell off her balance beam mount and plopped on her rump during the floor exercise. Her teammates, at times, seemed wobbly.
Meanwhile, the Chinese girls, performing before a raucous home crowd, delivered mostly flawless performances and waved with wild exuberance before, presumably, being put down for their naps.
You must turn 16 in the Olympic year to compete in this sport. But honestly. This one girl? Deng Linlin? She's 16 the way I'm 16. All the girls are tiny: She looks up to them. Previous registrations for events suggest several Chinese gymnasts may barely be 14 (even that is hard to believe), but all you need for the Games is a valid passport, and, surprise, the team has those. Who are you going to interrogate? The Chinese president?
Instead, Deng and her teammates were grilled by journalists with: "How did you spend your 15th birthday?" "What are your memories of it?" All that was missing were the hot lights and the cops.
But they won. That's what matters here. If you're looking for outrage, remember that not long ago, with its One Child policy, little girls were in danger of being killed over here or, at the least, shipped out for adoption. Now, in service to the state, they are on a pedestal.
It's a win-or-else mentality
But then, China is not in this for the warm and fuzzies. They don't make commercials here about the joy of trying even if you fail. There is an expression you see -- I spotted it at a museum that featured the urban planning of Beijing -- and it goes "Have no best, only better."
Translation for the Olympics: Gold is the minimum. More gold after that.
It is the reason why, as of this writing, China had more gold medals than anyone, and more than three times as many golds as it had silver or bronze. America may have more total hardware, but second or third place is of little interest here. The Chinese planned for years to specialize in sports that yielded multiple medals and go for gold. East Germany did it. So did the Soviet Union.
Now the Chinese are getting their wish -- no matter what the sacrifice -- and we seem more upset over it than they are. When news broke that the darling of the opening ceremony, a cute-as-a-button, pig-tailed singer who performed "Ode to the Motherland" was actually lip-syncing, because the true singer, a 7-year-old girl, was judged by a high-ranking official as not pretty enough, the Western world was aghast. But not the hosts.
"We combined the perfect voice and the perfect performance," Chen Qigang, the ceremony's chief music director, told Beijing Radio. "The audience will understand that it's in the national interest."
It may sound cruel and robotic. But Luciano Pavarotti lip-synced his Olympic aria in Torino. And Bela Karolyi, the hysterical gymnastics analyst for NBC who blasts the Chinese for age abuse, was accused of similar things when he was the "enemy" coaching Romania, remember?
Tonight, if an American finishes second, we can say she gave her all. And if a Chinese girl wins gold, her government can say "as expected." It's a barefoot war out there, with young women crying and little girls on the firing line. You can forget sometimes, here in Beijing, that sports are supposed to be fun.

Obama's Race Card playing tactic
A bit of belated news, but news nonetheless. Obama has once again played the race card. Oh, and ignore the part II in the title, since he's done it plenty of times before that.
Obama, in June, first said that the republicans where going to try to make you scared of him by talking about his name, and the fact that he is black.
In August, Obama used the exact same statement, with the exception of the "...and did I mention he's black" part, which he traded in for "...doesn't look like all the other presidents on the dollar bill".
So you have to ask: why is Obama doing this, and what will the voters think?
The reason why Obama is playing this card is simply because he does not wish to go through the vetting process, like Clinton and McCain had to do, and, well, ANY person running for office, let alone the highest office in the land, would have to go through. Basically, he is playing the card so that if anyone were to look back into Obama's rather messy past, or even challenge him on the issues, Obama and his goons would end up painting the person as a racist. It's exactly what happened to Hillary and Bill Clinton in the Democratic primaries, since the two had to fumble on their words at every moment to make sure that they could not be seen as racist, even by people so far left as Obama, Sharpton, or Jackson. Unfortunately, Obama's plan had worked. Now he is putting it into play against John McCain, who made sure that the moment it came out, he put out a statement showing how Obama played the card, and the Obama's campaign low road tactics.
But really, how does this resonate with voters? Obama basically has the hardcore liberals eating from the palm of his hand, but is having trouble with the Hillary voters, usually women over the age of 40, and blue-collar workers, also voters who came in large numbers to the Hillary campaign, and finally the Hispanic voters, who recent polls show may be going to Obama, but aren’t necessarily locked in as John McCain has a history with the Hispanic vote. Now, this does not work well wit any of the above. All three of the groups would see this for what it is, a racial move, and will be moved more towards McCain.
It really is a shame that in today's political climate, race still comes to the forefront by politicians trying to force people to vote for them, or else have those people be considered "racist" since they didn't share the same views. Really, American politics have come to a new low.

Energy In America
Let's face it, the only thing that is taking over the War on Terror and the failing economy is the energy crisis., and oh boy is it taking over! So let's see what the candidates are for and against:
John McCain:
-For Offshore Drilling
-For Coal Mining
-For Nuclear Power
-For Wind Power
-For Solar Power
-For Electric Cars and Hybrid Cars
-For Ethanol
-For Fossil Fuels
-For other types of Energy
Barack Obama:

Last thing though, and of course it has to deal with Obama since he can't stop getting in the spotlight! Obama recently said that we would save all the energy that we could get from off the cost if all we did was make sure our tires were properly inflated. Really?!

Obama-Mania
Yeah, I'm focusing on Obama. Why? Because stations like (MS)NBC and CNN won't give you the whole story. Today's topic is the "Obama-Mania" in Europe and the Middle East.
Middle East: Okay, so Obama lands in Iraq, Israel, and Afghanistan. In Iraq, he confronts general Petreaus for the FIRST TIME, and basically tells the general what is going to happen, not reallt bothering to listen to his "generals on the ground". Apprently for the Obama campaign, the only important generals are the ones that agree with him or have a liberally biased view. Oh, and did I mention how the Iraqi Prime minister practically endorsed Obama? Yeah, he said he didn't, but his plan and Obamas plan are near mirrors. Next, we have Israel. Here, Obama went back on what he said about Jerusalem, then went back on that, and went back a third time. This of course us just one of the many gaffs that Obama had made in his "trip", and one of many positions that the Senator of Illinois has decided to change his mind on for no reason whatsoever. I will go ahead and defend him when it comes to the Western Wall, as I think the media, supporters, and protesters should ahve had a more reverant nature there. I also have to hit the Israeli newspaper that had the audacity to retrive Obama's written message that he placed in the wall. Then there is Afghanistan, where he more or less talked with the President, played a game of basketball, and talk with troops. Odd, since Al Queda is in PAKISTAN and not AFGHANISTAN. If he really wanted to go after Osama, wouldn't he go and try talking to the Pakistinians?
Europe: This is where it starts to get a bit looney. In Germany, Barack decided that he was able to speak at the Brandenburg gate, where JFK and Reagon had once given extraordinary speeches that changed the world. Luckily for us, Chancellor Angela Merkel stopped this from happening. However, he decided to move it to the Victory Monument, which was a Nazi symbol. Really? REALLY?! At this point, his PR team is either extremely good for keeping the media from saying this, or are absolute idiots for allowing Obama to make such a stupid mistake. Rule number 1 for an election: DON'T ASSOCIATE YOURSELF WITH NAZIS! Oh don't worry, it gets better. After Obama gives his speech, he decided to go workout in a gym. Now, I know what you're thinking, but stay with me here. Obama went to workout ay a gym. The reason why this is important, is because Obama was suopposed to go and meet with wounded and dying troops in Germany. So what happened? Well, Obama said he didn't go because the Pentagon wouldn't let him. Thats a total lie. The Pentagon said Obama could come as long as he didn't bring his mob of reporters and camera men. But no, Obama decided not to go visit our sick, dying, and wounded troops simply because he couldn't bring his massive media following. It makes you questions how patriotic this guy is! Anyways, Obama went to France and Britain as well, where nothing really important happened other than meeting the leaders like usual, and holding an interview where he said he wouldn't change his mind at all. There is one thing that was important in that interview though, and it was that Obama tried to make wiggle room. He said, in detail, how he would get troops out of Iraq. In the interview in London, before he flew back to Illinois, he said that he was right on the broad strategic areas. This is an obvious change in position. Sadly, no one seems to notice it.
So what ahve we seen in the fabled Obama World Tour 2008? Gafff after gaff, and plently of flip-flops. Let's hope that people see through this as what it is: a glorified PR move, not a fact finding mission.
Middle East: Okay, so Obama lands in Iraq, Israel, and Afghanistan. In Iraq, he confronts general Petreaus for the FIRST TIME, and basically tells the general what is going to happen, not reallt bothering to listen to his "generals on the ground". Apprently for the Obama campaign, the only important generals are the ones that agree with him or have a liberally biased view. Oh, and did I mention how the Iraqi Prime minister practically endorsed Obama? Yeah, he said he didn't, but his plan and Obamas plan are near mirrors. Next, we have Israel. Here, Obama went back on what he said about Jerusalem, then went back on that, and went back a third time. This of course us just one of the many gaffs that Obama had made in his "trip", and one of many positions that the Senator of Illinois has decided to change his mind on for no reason whatsoever. I will go ahead and defend him when it comes to the Western Wall, as I think the media, supporters, and protesters should ahve had a more reverant nature there. I also have to hit the Israeli newspaper that had the audacity to retrive Obama's written message that he placed in the wall. Then there is Afghanistan, where he more or less talked with the President, played a game of basketball, and talk with troops. Odd, since Al Queda is in PAKISTAN and not AFGHANISTAN. If he really wanted to go after Osama, wouldn't he go and try talking to the Pakistinians?
Europe: This is where it starts to get a bit looney. In Germany, Barack decided that he was able to speak at the Brandenburg gate, where JFK and Reagon had once given extraordinary speeches that changed the world. Luckily for us, Chancellor Angela Merkel stopped this from happening. However, he decided to move it to the Victory Monument, which was a Nazi symbol. Really? REALLY?! At this point, his PR team is either extremely good for keeping the media from saying this, or are absolute idiots for allowing Obama to make such a stupid mistake. Rule number 1 for an election: DON'T ASSOCIATE YOURSELF WITH NAZIS! Oh don't worry, it gets better. After Obama gives his speech, he decided to go workout in a gym. Its official, the media has endorced Obama...
…okay, not officially, but close enough! Yes, our good friends over at ABC, NBC, and CBS have sent their top anchors to the Obama campaign. Yes, Charles Gibson, Brian Williams, and Katie Couric have all gone to Iraq with Obama, and basically the Obama campagin itself. Now, lets face it, these 3 have had a history of bias, but with such an outward show, I’m surprised no one has thrown them into the political gutter that out far-left friends currently inhabit. Not much better can be said about the news programs themselves, as all 3 have fallen just short of endorsing Obama, instead deciding to follow the “Miracle Man” around like some lost puppy.
But my biggest complaint, and the proof of the bias, can be seen by looking back to the beginning of the Iraq war. Since the beginning of the war, John McCain has made eight, count it, EIGHT trips to the Middle East, with nothing more than a mention for the 8th. In fact, McCain was even criticized for his trip!
Of course when Obama goes, for his SECOND time (though I think its more of a first time, since his original trip in 2006 had him in Iraq for 2 days) he gets the title of going on a “Tour of Duty” (Not even joking about that one!) Apparently he feels its better to play a game of basketball instead of focusing on what’s going on over in Afghanistan and Iraq. Don’t get me wrong, Obama is in fact meeting some of the leaders and important military strategists, but really, his basketball abilities aren’t the ones that he is going to need when it comes to November.
Furthermore, he is over there as more of a PR move instead of actually figuring out what’s going on. Does he think he’s the president already? Not only that, but he is over there after he made his decision on how he is going to make the United States lose the War on Terror and the Iraq War, which apparently makes sense in the Obama-land that most of the media and Obama supporters seem to be living in. Constitutionality of Gay Marriage
Gay marriage tends to be a very touchy subject, with some very extreme responses. On our left, we have out favorite liberal loons, who want you to be able to marry anything and everything as long as it has a pulse, and even that is subjective! On our right, we have the Religious Right, a.k.a. the citizens of Jesusland, who apparently think that the Bible is more important than the fact we have a separation of church and state.
Well guess what you two: you're both wrong. The fact is that if we make a law allowing Gay Marriage, it will get shot down by the Supreme Court since it is unconstitutional. Let me explain.
Under the 1st Amendment, we have the "freedom of religion". Most people take this as a one-way street, saying that they can choose any religion, or even not have a religion. This is true. However, there is another side to this. Notice it says freedom of religion. This means that religions are free from the government. Therefore, the government can not create a religion, and can not influence religions (the exception of course being that of human or animal abuse, otherwise anything is really allowed)? If we were to pass a law saying that homosexuals can get married, this would basically be government regulation of religions. This is unconstitutional, the government can not regulate religions, and any such law would be basically the same as spitting on the constitution. So the question becomes: what do the gays do?
The answer to this is the civil union. I know, I know, everyone is yelling "separate but equal!!" but that is not what this is. Anyone who wants a civil union can have one. Now I know civil unions don't give the same rights as marriages do. Well, we make it so that a civil union and a marriage are exactly the same. The only difference is that one is done by a judge, and one is done by a member of a clergy of some sort. You would have to go through the exact same channels, no matter what you are getting. Now I am not saying that a religion can't marry gay people if they do want to. If they find a church that is willing to marry them, then they will be seen as married in the eyes of the State, as long as they went through the proper channels to do so.
Both sides have been fighting tooth and nail for this, and its about time out leaders step up and do something about it. The above is really just a basic overview of a compromise I'm sure that both sides would be fine with, if they both would at least be willing to talk. Let's hope our leaders are smart enough to actually get this done.

World Can't Wait (for these loons to be gone!)
The "World Can't Wait" group is an organization who is dedicated to ousting the Bush "regime". This group is known for holding rallies with their good friends at Code Pink, who I'll get to at a later time.
Now here's a little secret for you all. Charles Kissinger (who was exiled) and his goons in the Revolutionary Communist Party started this whole organization. Don't take if from me though, take it from the website itself.
So there you have it, your own Revolutionary Protest!. Now besides calling the president Hitler, destroying the American flag and calling for the heads of all out leaders, these guys and gals are just another hippie protest group. They, like those idiots from the 60s and 70s, want to completely work against any type of war. Now, we can all agree that war is an unfortunate occurance, but it is a neccisary evil in the world we have today. It doesn't stop there though. These are the people that will go out and attack you for speaking your mind, and claim they are trying to protect your freedom of speech. And of course the old "Police Brutality" charge that always comes up when the law comes in and gets them to stop beating people.
We need to see this group as what it is: a threat. It is a cleaverly disguised organization that is here to promote a communist cause, and destroy America as we know it. Whether you like of dislike the President, you should never want to harm the country that gave you everything. Sad these people are allowed all the press they want.
